Students' Literary Society (SLS)

The Students' Literary Society is a student-centered society of Peshawar Medical College and has been founded to encourage and inculcate literary pursuits in the students of the Aesculapian sciences. 

The purpose for establishing the literary society is to compliment the rigorous and purely scientific study of medical subjects by creating a platform that will encourage the literary and artistic inclination of the students of Peshawar Medical College. 

SLS consists of a male and female wing of student volunteers (see the full list) who facilitate and organize various co-curricular events 

The Society organizes various events where students have the opportunity to display their talents. These events vary from debates, quizzes, essay writing, poetry writing, calligraphy and photography. (view upcoming events)

In future, we hope to organize national and international literary events as well in PMC. 

The college Annual Day will also be organized by the Society. 


HAYYAN 

Hayyan is the official magazine of Peshawar Medical College and Peshawar Dental College. It is managed by a board of editors which consists of staff and students (view editorial board)

The first issue was published in December 2011. It consisted of 5 main sections, namely English, Urdu, Pashto, Medicine and Research, and Activities Section.

The second issue is expected to arrive same time this year. The students of PMC and PDC are encouraged to submit their articles as soon as possible so that they can be added on time to the manuscript. (click here to submit your article now).

Also, students who are interested in becoming editors in any section of Hayyan can apply and they will be selected, on the basis of merit, after an interview with the Editor-in-Chief. (download application form)
